In their outrage, the Islamist Fascists and even the so-called moderate Islamists show that the Pope didn't go nearly far enough in his comments. Thus far, an Italian nun has been killed, churches have been torched, death threats (imagine that !), calling Christ a "Pig" and all of this, I suppose, is being done to prove to the world that that they are not violent. OK, I may be a little slow but I don't get it. The point is the non-Islamist world does not have to say a thing. We can be a nice as pie to these loonies but it won't matter. They want to kill us all just because we are who we are.
Now the Pope is trying to quell the violence by back-pedalling and I really wish he would not do that. In fact, I wish he would point out to the world that the violent Islamist response is precisely the kind of response that is consistent with the religion of Islam and no amount of apologizing, handwringing and fawning will satisfy them, unless, of course, the Pope agrees to convert to Islam.
