For those on the Left who want to know why it is that the United States continues to wage war on the terrorists, today’s assassination of Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan is a classic example. The Ron Paul, John Murtha and Dennis Kucinich types say that our continued presence in all parts of the world is what foments all the anger in the Islamist world, but how do you explain this today? Yes, Pakistan is a key ally of the USA in the War on Terror but we have no presence there. We have no bases there. Just because Pakistan is a US ally, does this mean that all US Allies are targets for the Islamic haters? Many also say that US support for Israel is the root cause of the terror attacks but where exactly is the Israeli involvement in this murder? There is no Israeli link here.
The bottom line is that the Islamic terrorists, through their corrupt ideology, want to spread Sharia Law to all parts of the globe and will seize on any opportunity to do so. This is exactly why the United States and its allies in the war on terror have to be alert at all times and seek out the pockets of terror and destroy them. It’s a war that just may never end because this hateful ideology will never fully die but if "free people" rise up against it wherever it is found and crush it in its place, rather than hide in fear, it can be defeated. Just another reason that the US needs to support efforts of those who desire to be free. It's a matter of self defense.
