Mother Nature is going to test the resolve of Ohio voters tomorrow. Ohio will be in the process of a huge changeover in weather from the balmy 64 degrees in Northern Ohio today to freezing rain, snow, and high winds which would normally keep many sane people at home. But we've all heard how energized the Dems are this year especially the Obama supporters so we would expect these diehard Obama and Hillary supporters to brave the weather and head for the polls in great numbers. But we'll see about that. On the one hand, Obama's great organization has brought out voters in great numbers. But this advantage could be hampered by the weather. On the other hand, Hillary has been drawing great support from the senior citizens who we would expect to stay home in large numbers if the weather is as bad as predicted. Weather should not affect the young voters nearly as much but if the weather is as bad as they say it will be, they may be distracted enough to just stay home in bed tomorrow. If the candidates are counting on first time voters to show up tomorrow in great numbers, my feeling is that first timers, not accustomed to the voting process and, as many people are, resistant to change in their course of their daily lives, will skip it tomorrow if Mother Nature makes it the least bit difficult.
It will be interesting to see the exit polling to see which of the candidate's supporters were motivated enough to brave the weather and get out to vote. It could have a large bearing on the turnout come November.
