Spare Me, Please

Are we going to go through this whole Jackie Robinson self flagellation, or should I say “self flatulation”, every 10 years now? My God, how many times do we have to bow at the altar of Jackie Robinson and Branch Rickey? Blacks have been playing major league baseball longer than were kept out of it. But still we have to go through this exercise every so often with Jackie Robinson having blazed the trail for blacks in baseball. In the last 60 years, how many records have been set by blacks in the Majors? Too numerous to count. For goodness sake, it has been 60 years now and thanks to Robinson, some sports like basketball for example are entirely dominated by black athletes and football is moving toward basketball percentages. But for some reason, baseball participation by blacks is falling and this bothers all the liberals who are in a twit or snit about this wondering what has happened to blacks in baseball and why the Hispanics are now dominating Baseball. Could it be that Blacks are just choosing the other sports over baseball? Why is this happening? My theory is that it takes a lot of time to develop excellence in baseball and I think for that reason, Blacks gravitate toward basketball and football for the instant gratification that they provide. The road to glory in these sports is not only quicker but more is more high profile. Even in high school, basketball and football are the two primary sports with high attendance while baseball brings up the rear in the Spring with little or no attendance. Same is true in college. NCAA basketball and football are televised nationally and its stars are nationally known figures before they finish their college careers. But college baseball is relegated to late night viewing on ESPN 2.

The way participation by Blacks in baseball is dwindling, how long will it be before they celebrate not only the first Black baseball player but also the last one?

Oh, That Liberal Rag, The NYT

I can’t believe this Article in the New York Times today. They said a 5 year investigation by the Justice Dept has turned up no major evidence of voter fraud. That’s fine, but they go on to say in the article that “Although Republican activists have repeatedly said fraud is so widespread that it has corrupted the political process…”

What’s that, Republicans activists? All we have heard since 2000 and again in 2004 is how Bush corrupted the system in Florida and Ohio. Almost every week, you hear some liberal talking head mention this. Now all of a sudden it’s the Republican activists that are leading the charge for voter fraud? My God, do they ever know how to spin a story. This 5 year study fully validates the presidential elections in 2000 and 2004, yet the Times tries to turn the story upside down to disparage the Republicans once again. As they say, the best defense is a good offense.

Military Code of Conduct

Below is the US Marines Code of Conduct.

ARTICLE I:
I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

ARTICLE II:
marine dress blue
I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.

ARTICLE III:
If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and to aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

ARTICLE IV:
If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information nor take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them in every way.

ARTICLE V:
When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country or its allies or harmful to their cause.

ARTICLE VI:
I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free

I will trust in my God and in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

When I read this and then compare how our Armed Forces are supposed to react in a similar situation as the 15 British sailors found themselves in, I have to wonder if the Brits have a similar code. They must not because our guys a) are not supposed to surrender of their own free will if they have a means to resist as the Brits did have and b) our guys are only to give name rank and serial number when questioned and are not to give any oral or written statements harmful to the national cause.

I know its tough not to put yourself into their shoes as captives, but some of the obsequious comments made by these hostages toward the Iranians made my skin crawl and their admissions of guilt seemed to me way over the top.  I would hope and pray that our men and women in the Armed Forces would show better form under these difficult circumstances.

Weak, Weak, Weak

Why wouldn’t the British Navy come to the assistance of their own sailors when they were hijacked 2 weeks ago? I’d like to believe the Brits when they say they were in Iraqi waters and not Iranian waters when this all happened but if they are telling the truth, why did they let the soft Iranians waltz off with 15 Brits? Nothing makes sense in this episode to me. A) If the Brits were in Iraqi waters supposedly at the mandate of the UN, then the Iranians must have been trespassing in Iraqi waters. Why did the Brits let that happen and not escort them back into Iranian waters? B) How do the Brits just sit and watch the Iranians capture their sailors without any effort to save them or fight back? It defies credulity.

Further, the nearly comic posturing from the Brits in all this; the huffing, the puffing, the meaningless threats (“The Iranians will risk becoming further isolated”) that would make a 3 year old snicker in reply, is just so ‘Jimma Cahter’- like, that its frightening in its weakness.

I’m sorry, but I feel that the Brits are either guilty of trespassing and just won’t admit it or if they weren’t trespassing are even more guilty in the eyes of free people of the world for not having made any effort to stand up for themselves and 15 sailors. Which is it?

Pot Calling the Kettle Black

John Kerry, recently in Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Conference, called the United States an “ international Pariah".  Click here for story. Here is the definition of “Pariah”.

–noun

1.

an outcast.

2.

any person or animal that is generally despised or avoided.

So he considers the United States to be an outcast or a nation to be avoided or despised. If we are despised by the Islamic extremists, who cares? We already know that but they hate everyone. If we are talking about the European countries, again who cares? They can’t wipe their own butts without help from us.

I have just one thought on this. The same countries which Kerry thinks so highly of, those countries that think the U.S. is a pariah, if they get in to any kind of trouble, be it economic, be it natural disaster, be it threats from neighboring countries, which country to you think they will look to for assistance first? You have 5 seconds to answer…… Time is up. We all know which country that is, the same one that has pulled the bacon out of the fire for every troubled nation on earth for the last 60 years. The United States of America. Yes, that same pariah that no one wants to be associated with ….UNLESS THEY UP TO THEIR BUTTS IN ALIGATORS, THAT IS.

Seems to me that given Kerry has been rejected by his own party and has seen fit to drop out of the 2008 presidential sweepstakes, he himself fits the definition of a pariah much more easily than his own country does.

Deaf, Dumb and Blind

I should never be surprised at how the liberal press tries to portray the news of the day but today I'm just a little incensed. What have we heard from the press ad nauseam for the last 3 years? What is Bush's definition of success in Iraq, what is his plan? Yesterday Bush made a clear and concise statement about our intentions in Iraq. He said "I've heard some ideas that would lead to defeat, and I reject those ideas - ideas such as leaving before the job is done.....We're not going to give up. The stakes are too high and the consequences too grave to turn Iraq over to the extremists". Further, he told the US troops that he has no intention of leaving Iraq until they finish the job of establishing a stable democracy. Now these are clear statements.

So if the press is so concerned about what Bush's intentions are, why on earth are statements this important to the American people buried on page A12 of the Cleveland Plain Dealer today? Why aren't these statements in the headlines in today's paper? And what does the article go on to say about Bush's statements? Following these clear statements of intent by the president, the comments say "The president's comments offered clues to his thinking as he prepares to announce a revised policy for Iraq early next month." "Clues"??? Oh come on. Even Inspector Clousseau would not consider these clear statements as mere clues. Like the family dog who has been trained not to eat the biscuit until he hears exactly the words he needs to hear, the Press sits there, eyes fixed on the biscuit called "Defeat and Retreat", and does not hear or will not hear any other words the President says until he finally says "Exit, Redeploy or Withdraw". Only then will the Press respond and gobble up the defeat and retreat biscuit. And they will savor every bite knowing that they have brought down the Hated Bush. This is their one and only goal and they won't give up until he is gone. The security of America means nothing to them. Only serving their own agenda does.

Why, Oh Why ?

Let’s see if I have this right:

The Dems are going to talk about scrapping the 700 mile border fence with Mexico that was approved weeks ago and set the stage for amnesty for 12-15 million illegals and allow at least that many more of their families to arrive over the next 5 years.

The Dems are going to initiate plans to exit from Iraq.

The Dems are going to haul the Sec. of Defense up for daily hearings to establish oversight on the Iraq war.

The Dems want to eliminate the Bush tax cuts which will be a tax hike for every tax paying citizen.

The Dems will not approve John Bolton as the UN Ambassador

The Dems are going to appoint John Murtha, the man who was an unindicted co-conspirator in the ABSCAM scandal 20+ years ago to a leadership position in the House while spouting the line that they will bring integrity back to the Congress.

The Dems are going to push for an increase in the national minimum wage.

Why exactly did we as a nation put these guys back in charge?

The Ultimate Suicide Mission

Is Ahmadinejad prepared to carry out the ultimate suicide mission? If what he says is true, and there is no reason not to believe him,( Benjamin Netanyahu certainly believes him ), Iran is close to getting the atomic bomb and if it's also true that it is Iran's intention to wipe Israel off the map, is Iran prepared to die in order carry out the "Ultimate Suicide Bombing Mission"? I doubt that they are. They must know that if they launch or detonate an atomic weapon, the complete atomic arsenal of the United State will be unleashed on them and would destroy Iran. This is exactly why they won’t do it. They can accomplish the same goal, however, by using the “death by a thousand cuts” technique they are now employing in Iraq to soften the will of the opposition. Once they do get the bomb they will be able to finally convince the liberals in the US to break our ties with Israel in a classic “Can’t we all be friends scenario”. Once that is done, Iran is then free to turn down the screws on Israel to the point that Israel will leave the homeland and again roam the dessert for another 40 years. Iran’s acquisition of the bomb could be the wedge that finally separates the Israeli people from their homeland. Netanyahu and company may have other plans, however. Stay tuned.

Ahmadinejad on Schedule

With the help of his liberal friends in congress, Ahmadinejad will soon be free to do whatever he desires in the Middle East and the first thing he wants to do is destroy Israel. So how does he go about doing that? First, he has to get rid of the US presence in Iraq and he and his terrorists have been doing a great job of terrorizing our media and left wing nut jobs. So much so that we are now very seriously discussing a way to get out “with honor”. Does anyone recall that phrase? But it’s all working very well for Iran right now. They are achieving their goal of freeing up Iraq for the taking. This buys them time to work on their bomb and there is no country out there with the will or the guts to stop them including and especially the United States. We have morphed into the European model of turning the other cheek and hoping for the best, all the while knowing that this cancer is growing out of control.

Unless Israel takes the initiative and does it soon, they will have no choice but to pack their bags and leave their homeland yet again or remain there either in slavery or entombed.

Hand Wringing Liberals on Parade

As predicted, it didn't take too long for the usual Liberal suspects to come filing out against the verdict of hanging Saddam for his murderous ways. The "March of the Libs" begins with the European Union and followed up closely by the New York Times, with many more to weigh in. Kerry, Murtha, Kucinich, Sheehan, Pelosi will all be tripping over one another getting to the microphone to condemn this barbaric sentence but they will wait until Wednesday to do so. They wouldn't want to convince any last minute fence sitters of how far Left they are.

Saddam Death Sentence

Now that Saddam has been sentenced to death, this will give the world a chance to see Liberalism on display. There will be much concern and handwringing over the "Backlash" that may occur if he is actually hung. The Liberals worry so much about what others may think of them, and worry so much of how we are creating a new generation of terrorists because we dare to stand up to them. Their only thought is if we just leave them alone, they will leave us alone. History has shown that not to be true. But Liberals are great at ignoring history.  Witness all the uproar at how Bush handled the talks with North Korea. History shows that the the Clinton Administration's bilateral talks did nothing, but all the Dems want is for us to go back to that old tired playbook. History also shows that if you leave dictators in place long enough, they will not be complacent with power only in their own country, they will try to grab more (Saddam and Hitler).

You can make book that the Liberal press will be fretting more over the backlash that may occur than they will over ending the life of one the world's most murderous dictators.

AARP's Insidious Message

Have you seen AARP’s “Don’t Vote commercial”? If not, Click Here. This is insidious if you ask me. How many of our senior citizens are going to see this and understand the message? AARP will tell you all day long that this is a public service message that is to have an informed electorate. For those who have the attention span to watch the entire commercial, that comes through clear enough. But what of those how only see the first half of it? How many of our Senior citizens are going to see the first part only and then feel that AARP is telling them not to vote? How many of those Seniors and non-seniors for that matter, think to themselves, “you know what, I really don’t know all the issues and all the candidates, maybe it would be better if I did just stay home on Nov 7”? Those usually reliable Seniors that the Republicans count on to get out to the voting booth may not be so reliable anymore.

The real message that AARP wants to get across is to STAY HOME!!! The surest way for the Democrats to win this election is for the Republicans base to boycott the polls and stay home and this commercial goes right to the core of the great number of Republican voters.

AARP’s commercial is a devious plan to keep the Republican turnout low and I think we should all let AARP know about it. Start by canceling your membership today. Click here to give them a piece of your mind.

Political Insurgency of the Democrats

I've thought about how the Democrats have been constantly attacking Bush and everything he stands for. It's nothing more than an American political insurgency. These insurgents can never win in a head to head battle of ideas with Republicans. All they can do is ambush and undermine. Bush is the occupying force and the Dems want him and his party to leave. So, ever since he was first elected in 2000, there has been a constant drumbeat by the MSM to undermine everything Bush stands for. The Democrats themselves have taken every opportunity to oppose any accomplishment by Bush (i.e growth in the economy) and have opposed every proposal brought forth (i.e Social Security reform) by the administration. The Dems have even aligned themselves with our sworn enemies by trying by opposing tough questioning of detainees, wire tapping of terrorist phone calls, and even insisting that these enemies be extended the same constitutional guarantees that American citizens have enjoyed. The Dems were delirious in exclaiming those infamous words "We defeated the Patriot Act." Now as we near the elections, they appear to be within reach of their ultimate goal, that of ejecting the occupying force from Congress. The reaction of some Republicans seems to be oddly similar to the way the Democrats have acted ever since the Iraq war started. Some Republicans have been waiving the white flag. It's as though they are taking the Murtha approach by saying that the Republican presence is only hurting the country and we ought to just give up and let the insurgents (Dems) win.

Now the rest of us are in the same position as the present Iraqi government. We need to put our foot down, take the bull by the horns and rid the country of these political terrorists. The best way to do it is to become like our Iraqi brothers and have the courage to dip our fingers in the purple ink and turn out in record numbers at the polls and break the back, once and for all, of this political insurgency. Otherwise, by turning the country back over to the insurgent Libs, we will have surrendered our president and our country over to two years of lynch mob mentality which will result in endless investigations, repeal of tax cuts and the end of the steady economic growth we have enjoyed.

Don't let them win. Get out and vote.

Setting the Stage for Voter Rage

Well, the New York Times is making a preemptive strike on anticipated chaos at the polls in November stating that the tight races and new electronic voting equipment may cause confusion at the polls

See Drudge Report

Of course, this is designed to set the stage for invalidating any results that may go against the Democrats just like they tried to do in 2004, especially in Ohio.  If the Democrats win, you will not hear a word about any chaos at the polls even if there is major chaos but God help us all if the Dems lose. If there is so much as a 10 minute wait or snafu anywhere in one of the tight races, there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth about how the Republicans once again stole the elections, which will set off recounts and challenges nationwide. Nevermind the fact that in most of the major cities, the Democrats control the Board of Elections. I predict that there will never be another unchallenged election in which the Democrats lose.
