Next October Surprise

Here is the next chapter in the continuing October surprises. First Foley, now this. You can bet that the MSM will have this front and center for the next few days pounding on the Bush War Policy. Even though it looks like the data is very suspect, the MSM will brush that aside like they do all other inconvenient facts. As Rush says “it’s the seriousness of the charge that matters.”

Message to All Republican Voters

From Bill Bennett's Morning in America this morning:

Don't Stay Home Conservatives!

"Okay, look. Now is the time for all good men-and women-to come to the aid of the party.

"In 1960, Barry Goldwater famously shouted, 'Grow Up Conservatives.' It took 20 years for that call to be heeded, and we got the expanded, entrenched Welfare State, a disastrous & humiliating foreign policy in the meantime; and Ronald Reagan's presidency was about attempting to roll back those 20 years as much as moving forward on a positive agenda.

"Look, if you want John Paul Stevens replaced on the Supreme Court with a carbon copy, pro-choice, pro-racial preferences Justice, stay home.

"If you want Donald Rumsfeld hauled before Congress every week justifying the war rather than fighting it, stay home.

"If you want spending to increase even above the levels you are unhappy with now, stay home.

"If you want Henry Waxman holding hearings on every aspect of the administration's actions, stay home.

"If you want to see the war in Iraq defunded to the point of withdrawal so that the worst elements in Iraq take over and a repeat of the helicopters-fleeing-Saigon-type-images come back all over again, signaling a decade-long disrespect and doubt of American power, stay home.

"If you want to keep the border unsealed, stay home.

"The stakes are large, we can't afford twenty years, we can't afford two years of this. If you want a change in your Congressional leadership, fine, wait until you have the election, then demand it, with a new GOP speaker and majority leader if you want...but let me tell you, a new minority leader and a new minority whip will not get you much, it won't get you anything.

"Two years ago we sent a message by reelecting the President, have things fallen so hard since then that we can't muster those numbers again and see that the good should not be traded in for the bad? You want to rue a day? You will rue a day with John Conyers as head of the House Judiciary and Pat Leahy as head of the Senate Judiciary. Don't do it. Please don't do it."

And You're Still Watching CNN?

How about this creep, Ted Turner? Our freedom in this country has allowed him to make hundreds of millions of dollars yet he says he says he could not make up his mind when Bush gives the nations of this world the choice, "you are either for us or against us".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J-mUwkmw-M

Then he says that the news media should not show the American Flag on its newscasts.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPIA95SLv6g

Has he forgotten that our freedoms that he enjoys are not available in many parts of the world? Too bad he didn't have to make his living under the rule of Saddam, Castro or Kim Jung Il. Maybe he should for a while. I happily skip right over all of his cable channels but maybe we should all call our cable companies and tell them to block out all Turner network channels altogether such as CNN, CNN Headline News, WTBS, Turner Classic Movies (TCM), TNT, and any others out there that Turner owns or has a stake in.

8 Reasons

Heard on Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" this morning from a caller.

8 Reasons to Get Out and Vote Republican This November

1. Democrats think that an unborn child is merely part of a woman's body

2. Democrats Support Legalization of Gay Marriage

3. When Democrats find out that an elected member of their party had sex with a page or intern they not only are not expelled but get treated like heroes or re-elected

4.Dems think that the best way to fight terrorism is to remove or weaken the Patriot Act

5. Dems think that the only way to slow down illegal immigration is to grant amnesty to all illegals

6. Dems rail against the "Culture of Corruption" but they have no problem with a president selling overnights in the Lincoln Bedroom to convicted felons in exchange for large political contributions.

7. Dems would pull troops out of Iraq prematurely and would turn the country back over to the terrorists.

8. Dems believe that would be voters should not have to be required to provide ID to vote.

A good but incomplete list. Feel free to share more if you have them.

Compared to What?

Back when Ohio Senator Mike DeWine joined the so-called Senate "Gang of 14" which was formed to stop the Republicans from enacting the "Nuclear Option" which would have been used to break up the filibuster that the Democrats were using to stop Bush's judicial appointment from getting through the Judiciary Committee, I swore that when DeWine joined the group that I would never, ever vote for him again. In fact, I sent him letters ripping him for that move and telling exactly what I thought.  However, when I see who DeWine is running against for the Ohio Senate seat, I now understand that I could never vote for his opponent nor could I stay home and not vote at all. DeWine's opponent, Sherrod Brown is to the left of Teddy Kennedy according to the rating agencies that track voting records and thus he stands for just about everything that I oppose and find repugnant in government and cultural policies.  Given the choice, in spite of my irritation at DeWine, I found myself this week putting up a sign for DeWine in my own yard.

I think this small example illustrates what will happen at the polls in November. During the time between elections, the only people that you can direct your ire to are the people in office at the time and the polls that are taken will reflect those feelings. But when the electorate compares the records of the two separate opponents, that is when the "rubber hits the road" and I feel when most Republican voters make that comparison, they will have a tough time pulling the lever for a Democrat just because they were upset at the incumbent. So even though the polls may reflect otherwise, I think in the end the Republicans will prevail because the alternatives are so ugly.

What You Won't See on MSM Tonight

You won't see this little nugget of good economic news on any MSM outlets tonight. We wouldn't want to give "W" any pats on the back now would we? Click on the link.

Foley

What are these congressmen thinking that do these things? Haven't we all had enough experience with computers to know that any electronic message is retrievable at some point in time? Don't you think that an experienced congressman, dabbling in sexual matters with underage boys, might have thought somewhere along the line that his young correspondents may not keep all these communications secret and tell or show someone about what was going on? Not to mention the inappropriateness of the entire matter of a sitting congressman using his position over a young subordinate. He should have lost his job just for being stupid. He has put his entire party and the nation at risk.
Frankly, I'm sick of these perverts from both parties in government. The push to normalize this aberrant behavior in our society has poisoned our culture and encourages this kind of sick behavior. It's time to purge these sickos from government.

Thankful for Response

Charlie Rangel, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer's rebuke of Hugo Chavez's personal attack on President Bush were welcome additions to the debate. I'm glad that someone spoke up and basically told Hugo Chavez to shut his mouth.  I wish that President Bush would have done the same rather than turn the other cheek and say that Chavez's comments were not worthy of a response. They were worthy of a response because Bush's cause in this world is not imperialistic. When has American ever been such? The answer.... never. We are not in this fight to take territory or to take resources from other countries. We don't have to do that. If all we wanted from Iraq was oil, all we had to do is buy it. We don't need to take it and have to incur the expense of our soldiers lives and national treasury. No, we do it for one reason only.... to protect the people of the United States. Instability in the Middle East is a threat to our people. Witness 911 and other terrorist acts against our country.

So all these rantings by Chavez and Ahmadinejad are way off base and out of line and do require a sharp response. Thank you, Mr. Rangel, Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Schumer

Don't Buy Gas at Citgo

Was it ever more true that you are known by the friends you keep? This guy is dangerous and a serious threat to this country. Citgo is a Venezuelan owned company and Chavez in essence owns Venezuela. Buying gas from Citgo only helps Chavez undermine  our country.  Do not buy gas at Citgo !!!

Don't Call Me Mo

Now that Mo Clarett has finally found a place to lay his head for the next 3 years or so, how long will it be before the prison crowd gets to Clarett and converts him to Islam? He already looks the part.  Just call me "Khalid Ali Shaboom"

They Prove the Pope's Point

In their outrage, the Islamist Fascists and even the so-called moderate Islamists show that the Pope didn't go nearly far enough in his comments.  Thus far, an Italian nun has been killed, churches have been torched, death threats (imagine that !), calling Christ a "Pig" and all of this, I suppose, is being done to prove to the world that that they are not violent.  OK, I may be a little slow but I don't get it. The point is the non-Islamist world does not have to say a thing. We can be a nice as pie to these loonies but it won't matter.  They want to kill us all just because we are who we are.

Now the Pope is trying to quell the violence by back-pedalling and I really wish he would not do that.  In fact, I wish he would point out to the world that the violent Islamist response is precisely the kind of response that is consistent with the religion of Islam and no amount of apologizing, handwringing and fawning will satisfy them, unless, of course, the Pope agrees to convert to Islam.

There They Go Again

Did he look at them cross-eyed? Did he stick pins in an Islamo-Fascist doll? Did he draw cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed on the Vatican bathroom wall? Well, you would have thought Pope Benedict did even worse that all that. All he did was quote a Byzantine emperor, Manuel II Paleologus from the year 1394 saying "Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached". A quote, and the Pope made it clear it was a quote. But the Islamo-Fascists don't want to be reminded of such things so beware Pope Benedict, you are now on the list. As if he wasn't already on the list. We are all on the list and you don't even have to draw a cartoon or make fun in public of these animals. We are all in the cross hairs and if we aren't proactive in taking out these people before they take us out, we may all be bowing toward Mecca sooner than we think.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like......

I am beginning it to think that things are starting to unravel in Iraq. First, there is Prime Minister of Iraq, Nouri al-Maliki paying a friendly visit to Iran and Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who, smiling like the jackal he is, announced to Iraq and the world that Iraq can be a partner with Iran and can depend on Iran for its security in the future. Never mind that Iran, the chief sponsor of terrorist activity in Iraq, are the very people who are supplying all of the ammunition and bomb making materials that are killing Iraqis by the score on a daily basis. This meeting does not bode well for any US intentions in Iraq. Remember that it was only weeks ago that Maliki refused to denounce Hezbollah in the Israeli-Lebanon conflict.

Then we learn that the judge in the Saddam Hussein trial gives comfort to Saddam with his opinion that Saddam was not a dictator, that only the people around Saddam made him a dictator. Word is that we are now trying to get this judge removed from the trial. It seems more and more that those in power in Iraq are now moving away from official US positions and are making it even tougher to generate sufficient American public opinion in support of our efforts there. Even loyal supporters of the Bush Administration will now be wondering if it is all worth while if, in fact, Iraq will climb right into bed with Iran and if we can’t even get an Iraqi court to convict Saddam. Now that would be a real defeat in the war on terror.

Gas Prices

It's already started. With gas prices now down around 90 cents a gallon from previous highs, allegations are now being made that Bush is manipulating the prices to come down just before the fall elections. If only that were true. But sadly for the Dems, the truth is the market is driving the prices down. If it were true that Bush can control the gas prices with such ease, why in the world were gas prices skyrocketing in 2004 through the entire election cycle? If he had the ability to affect gas prices, that would have been the time to do it but prices at that time went from less than $1.50 to over $2.00 a gallon right into November.  So please spare me the conspiracy theories on the gas prices.

MSM and Richard Armitage

Why doesn't the MSM go after Richard Armitage with the same zeal that they have gone after Karl Rove, Cheney, Scooter Libby, and "W" himself? If these people were all guilty of outting Valerie Plame, a CIA operative, then why all of sudden isn't Armitage guilty of the same thing? Drudge Report has Robert Novak's latest word on this. Where is the MSM outrage? Moving on to the next Hate Bush story no doubt.
